Special Programs


 

Durra center presents, in addition to the basic academic programs, group of specialized programs in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, specially designed for specific purposes. If you were planning to utilize your Arabic learning to focus on specific fields then this is your selection.

 

If your specialty was in diplomat, medical, or business sector, or you would like to continue your academic learning in specialties taught in Arabic, then be sure we will be ready to fulfill your needs and expectations.

 

Such programs are suitable for students who finished both the preliminary and beginners level in Arabic language, and are now able to continue learning in the intermediate level with special programs.

 

All our instructors are qualified and fairly knowledgeable and familiar with different specialties, which helps student understand detailed level of linguistic nuances.

 

Number of hours:

80 learning hours for all special programs (per each level).

 

Number of hours for each course:

Normal courses: 3 hours a day, 5 days a week: Sunday to Thursday.

At Ease Courses: 2 hours a day, 3 days a week: Saturday & Monday & Wednesday, or Sunday & Tuesday & Thursday.

 

Daily working hours:

Student can choose either morning hours or evening hours.

  

 

“Diplomat” Program

Diplomat program was designed to teach Arabic to help ambassadors and diplomatic individuals reach to a high level effective and clear communication. This program targets those working in the diplomatic field, in addition to media and international agencies employees.

 

This program focuses on:

         - Effective and confident communication in Arabic.

         - Present offers and letters in various subjects.

         - Making comments and interventions during meetings and interviews.

         - Speed in reading, and perfect understanding.

         - Making phone calls.

         - Letters and reports writing.

 

 

 “Classical” Program

This program refers primarily to the language of Quran, and various texts and words that are directly inspired by both its form and content, mainly Islamic studies, such as: Philosophy and Sufism in the middle ages. The program also covers studying modern texts in various subjects written by contemporary writers.

 

Students in this program are provided with the necessary skills in grammar, morphology, and rhetoric (nahw, sarf, and balagha), and to excel in reading, understanding, analyzing, and interpreting of classical texts.

 

This program targets those who would like to follow their university study in Islamic and Arabic specialties.

 

This program focuses on:

         - Effective and confident communication in Arabic.

         - Reading classical Arabic texts in an expressive way.

         - Understanding of semantic and expressive images of literature and rhetoric.

         - Ability to write perfect composition texts.

 

 

 “Medical” Program

This program was designed to teach Arabic to non-native speakers to help medical staff (doctors and nurses) and other foreigners working in hospitals in the Arab world, mainly help them reach to a high level of communication with local patients.

 

This program focuses on:

         - Effective communication using classical and dialect Arabic.

         - Ability to make proper medical conversation with employee in the medical sector.

         - Get introduced to the cultural aspect of the used verbal expressions.

 

 

 “Business” program

The business program was designed to teach Arabic to non-native speakers to help merchants, brokers, sales agents, and employees in the business sector reach to a high level of clear and effective communication with local merchants, and the utilization of vocabulary and linguistic structures to create successful business deals.

 

This program focuses on:

         - Effective communication using classical and dialect Arabic.

         - Make perfect business and legal conversations with local merchants.

         - Proper reading and understanding of commercial texts.
